Phil Borges and Social Issues

As my life changes, so does my favorite photographer.  At this point in my life I am so infatuated with the idea of culture and how different gestures can be interpreted in different ways depending on the longitude and latitude of your location.  That is why Phil Borges is currently my favorite photographer.  Just with one glance of his work you can see that he is touching on the cultures that are suffering with social issues.  He is using people and landscapes to create moods for the viewer to understand the deeper meanings of his work.  This is so captivating in all ways, not only does it engage myself as a member of the audience, but it also makes me want to look deeper into what he is trying to say to see his creative processes.  Phil Borges is also using lighting and desaturation of both the foreground and the background to match the messages he is attempting to convey.
